Our journey is unique to our environment
and our choices.

I try to allow each piece to move in its own direction, staying open to the reactions the wood has to the stimulation. Some of the Exile bodies have taken a year to capture their look. Pushing technique to attain new looks takes patience. It's all about not giving up until you find the right look.

My career journey began in the Alaskan Arctic. The harsh and extreme environment shaped my taste and quest. Seeing a job thru and not giving up for any number of good reasons fed my determination.

The Materials

Staying ahead of the next big idea is a challenge for sure. Searching the Pacific Northwest and finding the right renewable materials is as fun as it sounds. I try to avoid retail and get out to the source every chance I get. It's a treasure hunt to find the perfect materials for my guitars.
